Sanderson Basketball Academy wraps up Week 1

Northridge Hoops head boys basketball coach Barry Sanderson wrapped up Week 1 of the Sanderson Basketball Academy, last Thursday at the Jerry Belk Activity Center at Bowers Park in Tuscaloosa. This is the 10th year for the camp. Attendees worked on the fundamentals skills of basketball — ball-handling skills, dribble moves, shooting technique, footwork, live ball moves and basketball concepts — as well as contests and playing competitive games.

The week ended with an awards ceremony, where several campers were recognized for various accolades. The Free Throw Champ for stations 3 and 4 was Parker Hudson. Free Throw Champ for stations 1 and 2 was Ben Savage. The Knockout Award winner for stations 3 and 4 was Alexander Duffy. Knockout Award winner for stations 1 and 2 was Mac Smith. Cade Bullard took home the overall Camper of the Week for stations 3 and 4, while Hank Gurney walked away with overall Camper of the Week for stations 1 and 2. Individual station campers of the week were Knox Vorhees for station 1, Mitchell Ya for station 2, Wilkes Cormier for station 3 and Carson Culp for station 4.

Week 2 of the Sanderson Basketball Academy 2024 will be held July 22-25, from 9am – 1pm each day. Camp is open for ages 5-15. Click HERE for more information and a sign-up sheet for Week 2.
