Jags varsity volleyball opens at home with win over Wildcats

A home-opening win is sweet, but it may be a little sweeter when it comes against against a local rival. Jags varsity volleyball did just that when they took a 3-1 win over Tuscaloosa County Wildcats volley on Thursday night. The Jags took Game 1 but dropped Game 2. However, they rebounded and took Game 3 and Game 4 for the win.

Giulianna Hitchner ended the match with five aces, four kills and seven blocks. Avery Warren recorded 10 aces, six kills, seven assists and three blocks. Mattison Funderburk tallied three aces and 11 assists. Madison Simpson totaled three aces and nine kills. Shelby Savage added four kills. Addisyn Hill had three aces. Cathleen Vail had one kill and one assist. Sage Jackson finished with three kills and one block.
