Jags JV blanks Brookwood, 28-0

The JV Jags followed up the Varsity with its own trouncing of the Brookwood Panthers. The Jags jumped out to a Brennon Kirkland and Tate Espey connected for three scores on the evening, with Kirkland connecting with Demeriyan Cotton for the final touchdown of the evening. In the end, the Jags claimed their second victory over Brookwood in the last four days in a shutout, 28-0.

The first score of the game came with 6:15 on the clock, when Kirkland hit Espey about the 10 yard line and Espey eased into the end zone. Tregre Benoit added the PAT to give the Jags a 7-0 lead.

After Tyler Ivory recovered a Panther fumble, Kirkland found Espey again for another catch-and-run TD for the Jags. Lane O’Mary tacked on the PAT, giving the Jags a 14-0 lead at the 3:56 mark of the opening quarter.

With 4:13 remaining in the first half, the Kirkland/Espey connection tallied their third touchdown of the night. Benoit converted the PAT kick, stretching the Jag lead to 21-0.

After halftime, Kirkland launched a deep pass to Cotton, who drew an interference call but still managed to haul in the pass, hook around a defender and race to the end zone. O’Mary added the final PAT of the night, giving the Jags’ the final 28-0 margin of victory.
