Tale of the Tape: McAdory Edition

The Northridge Jaguars took one on the chin in McAdory, fighting the rain and a worthy opponent. Turnovers were a main character in the turnout of the game. Three turnovers in the first half turned into a 21-point halftime deficit for the Jags.

In the passing/receiving category . . . Rowdy Christensen completed 8 of 12 passes for 62 yards. Parker Cline led the way with 35 yards on three catches. Cline’s longest reception went for 16 yards. Keith Powell had one catch for 12 yards. Elam had one catch for nine yards. Tye Welton collected three catches for six yards, with a long of seven yards.

In the rushing category . . . Mayson Elam led the Jags with 111 yards on 18 carries, with a longest run of 40 yards. Brylon Tubbs totaled 52 yards on four carries and scored the lone touchdown for the Jags and had a longest run of 33 yards. Magnus Greimel managed nine yards on six carries. Christensen had one run of nine yards, but ended with losing 14 on another, for a total of -5 yards on two carries.

Northridge ended the night with 229 total yards of offense, with 167 coming on the ground and 62 through the air.

Elam led the way in all-purpose yards with 156, by way of adding 31 kick return yards and five punt return yards to the 111 rushing and nine receiving yards. Tubbs added 42 kick return yards to his 52 rushing yards for a 94 yard total. Amani Knox added 29 kick return yards.

Notables: Fumbles were a huge factor in the game. The Jags fumbled five times, losing three of those. The three lost fumbles turned into 21 points for the Yellow Jackets. If you do the math surrounding the fumbles, you are looking at a 13-7 score. Consider the fact that McAdory scored another touchdown (missed PAT) with 38 seconds on the clock and we could have been looking at a 7-7 game.
