Lady Jags basketball tops Pinson Valley in opener, 40-16
The Northridge Lady Jags basketball team opened the 2024 season at home with a 40-16 win over the Pinson Valley Indians on Monday evening.
Even though the games started a little slower than normal, the Lady Jags ended the first quarter with a 6-point lead at 8-2.
Northridge doubled up their first quarter production and allowed six, going into halftime leading 16-8.
The third quarter saw the Lady Jags score one more point than they scored in the first half. The 17-point output had the Lady Jags leading 33-16 after three quarters.
The final period ended with Northridge scoring seven more points, while holding Pinson Valley scoreless, for the 40-16 win.
RB Norris led the Lady Jags with 14 points and Ryan Bardenwerper totaled 10 points. Aleia Morrell added six, with La’Miah Foy and Tremyah Washingto adding three points each. Ava Maye and Bayne Brown rounded out the Lady Jags’ scoring with two points apiece.
