Lady Jags take down Hale County, 47-36
Northridge Lady Jags basketball hosted the Hale County Wildcats on Thursday night at The Ridge. The Lady Jags doubled up the Lady Cats in the first quarter, taking a 14-7 lead and never gave up the lead, eventually taking the 47-36 win.
The opening quarter saw Northridge knock down four 3-pointers, en route to a 14-7 lead over Hale County. Production dropped off just a little in the second quarter, with the Lady Jags getting 12 points while being matched by the Lady Cats, resulting in the 26-19 lead for Northridge.
The Lady Jags added another 12 in the third quarter, but held the Lady Cats in check, allowing only three points, resulting in a 38-22 lead. That 16 point lead took a bit of a dent in the final quarter, when Hale County had their most productive period of the game, adding on 14 points. The Lady Jags failed to reach a double digit output in the final stanza, but the nine points that were added resulted in a 47-36 victory for the Lady Jags.
RB Norris led Northridge with 14 points and Aleia Morrell added 11 points. Ava Maye ended the night with 10 points. Taylor Ivory and Tremyah Washington added six points each, to round out the scoring for the Lady Jags.
