It was Senior Night at the Ridge and Northridge High School recognized their football, cheer, band, flag boys and JROTC students before the game. Then, the Jags capped the night with a win over the Paul W. Bryant Stampede that pulled the Jaguars football team to a 4-4 record on the season. The Jags jumped ahead early and senior Miller Arendale picked up what would be the game winning touchdown on a Pick-6 in the first quarter.
The Stampede won the coin toss and elected to receive. However, the Jags first drive stalled. The Northridge defense would hold Bryant and the Jags got the ball back after a Stampede punt. Hicks Finison tacked on the PAT for a 7-0 Northridge lead.

On Bryant’s ensuing drive after the kickoff, Arendale picked off a pass on the right side and rumbled 55 yards for his first interception of the season. The Finison PAT gave the Jags a 14-0 lead with 1:25 to go in the first quarter.

After the teams traded punts, Bryant lined up for a short field goal. Northridge broke through the line and Kaideyn Rice blocked the attempt. Following the defensive stop, Elam connected with Tate Espey for a 35-yard touchdown pass. Finison’s PAT increased the Jags’ lead to 21-0 with 1:00 remaining in the first half.

The Stampede finally got on the board in the third quarter with a field goal at the 4:32 mark, but the Jags still held a 21-3 lead.

Jonathan Shearer-Brown stopped the Bryant possession with the Jags’ second interception of the evening. That set up the second Elam-to-Hall touchdown of the game and the last Finison PAT resulted in what would be the 35-10 final score with 1:23 to go in the final quarter.

Northridge (4-4, 2-3) travels to Bessemer City (5-1, 3-1) for their final Class 6A Region 4 clash of the 2025 season. The game is a must-win for the Jags, if they hope to qualify for post-season play.
