Lady Jags Volleyball Claims Area Tourney Title

As an encore to claiming the AHSAA Class 6A Area 6 regular season, by way of an undefeated record (6-0), the Northridge Jaguars Volleyball Team added the Area Tournament crown to their resume for the season. In the opening match of the tournament, Northridge defeated Central, 3-0. Brookwood defeated Central in the second match and won to advance to the championship match. The Lady Jags continued their streak and defeated the Lady Panthers, 3-0.

Avery Warren finished with 10 aces, 12 kills, 30 assists and 18 digs. Warren was rewarded for her efforts as the tournament MVP. McKenzie Small, Nola Gillespie and Caroline Way joined Warren on the All-Tournament Team. Small collected two aces, 26 digs and 11 assists. Gillespie finished with 16 kills and two blocks. Way tallied 16 kills on the evening.

The Lady Jags (23-18, 8-0) advance to the Class 6A Regionals at Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. Northridge will take on Stanhope Elmore on Thursday.
