Jags fall to Huskies, 61-47

The Northridge Jaguars hosted the Huskies from Hewitt-Trussville on Friday at The Ridge. The Huskies got out to a fast start and never looked back. The Jags just couldn’t keep up and ended the night on the wrong end of a 61-47 score, with the Huskies picking up the win.

Hewitt-Trussville set the tone after one quarter, taking a 20-8 lead. Northridge had a better second quarter, scoring 13 points. However, the Huskies added 14 to their total, ending the half with a 34-21 advantage over the Jags.

Northridge had another solid output in the third quarter, scoring 14. But, after building a sizable lead, Hewitt-Trussville kept adding to their lead, this time by 16. Trailing 50-35, the Northridge finally bested the Huskies, outscoring them 12-11 in the final period. Unfortunately, that was no where near enough to mount a comeback and the Jags suffered a 61-47 loss when the final buzzer sounded.

Tavares Jones led Northridge with 12 points. Elias Fleming and Adam Hall followed with 11 points each. Mize Parker totaled eight points on the evening. Garrett Ingram added three points and Ben Leitner finished with two points.
