Lady Jags blast Brookwood for area win, 61-15

The Northridge Lady Jags claimed their second area win over the Brookwood Lady Panthers on Friday evening, outscoring their opponent by 46 points. The Lady Jags secured a lead early and built on that lead throughout the game. The final result was a 61-15 area win.

Northridge came out hot, outscoring the Lady Panthers 20-4 in the opening quarter. The 16 point lead became a 27 point halftime lead after the Lady Jags outscored Brookwood 16-5 in the second quarter, for a 36-9 lead.

The Lady Jags matched their first quarter scoring in the third quarter while limiting the Lady Panthers to only three points. That gave Northridge a 56-12 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. While the Lady Jags fell off drastically in the fourth quarter, Northridge still outscored their opponent 5-3, claiming the 61-15 win with the final buzzer sounded.

Jakeya Horton paced the Lady Jags with 13 points. Ryan Bardenwerper added 12 points. Bayne Brown rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points. Aleia Morrell, Malia Barrera and Taylor Ivory evenly split 18 points. Riley Hoggle finished with three points.

Horton added five rebounds and three steals to her stat line for the game. Bardenwerper totaled four assists. Brown had three steals and Morrell had seven rebounds. Ivory contributed five steals, four assists and three rebounds.
