Jags claim area win over Central, 72-56
The Northridge Jaguars added a win to their area resume at The Ridge on Tuesday, claiming a 16-point victory over the Central Falcons. The Jags methodically build a lead, quarter by quarter, and eventually finished off a 72-56 win.
Northridge started off the game with a solid performance, ending the first quarter with a 14-6 lead. The second quarter saw the Jags add 17 to their total. However, the Falcons did put up some good offense, scoring 15 points of their own. Even so, the Jags headed into halftime with a 10-point lead at 31-21.
After the half, the Jags had their most productive quarter of the evening, scoring 24 points in the third quarter. The Falcon managed 10 points, bringing the third quarter to a close with Northridge leading 55-31. The Jags were able to add another 17 points in the final stanza, while Central had the most prolific quarter of the game for either team, scoring 25. When the final buzzer sounded, the Jags claimed a 72-56 win.
Elias Fleming led Northridge with 20 points on the evening. Adam Hall was the only other Jag in double digits, with 11. Miller James added seven points. Mize Parker and James Walker scored six points each. Ben Leitner finished with four points. Garrett Ingram, Max Bruinton and Tavares Jones scored three points each. Andrew Matthews, Graham Patton, Thomas Patton and Jon Marshall Crew all totaled two points each. Owen Worrell rounded out the scoring for the Jags with one point.
