Lady Jags drop Lady Falcons, 38-36
The Lady Jags used a strong fourth quarter to pick up an area win against the Central Lady Falcons, 38-36. Trailing 31-26 at the end of three quarters, Ryan Bardenwerper and Jakeya Horton chipped in 12 points while the Lady Jags held the Lady Falcons to five, giving Northridge the two point victory.
The Lady Jags found themselves trailing 9-4 at the end of the first quarter. Northridge heated up a little in the second quarter, putting 14 points on the scoreboard. However, Central did add 13, giving the Lady Falcons a four point lead at 22-18. Central outscored Northridge 9-8 in the third to take a 31-26 lead. But, the Lady Jags went to work and held on for the 38-36 area win.
Bardenwerper led the Lady Jags with 16 points and Ryleigh Brooke Norris added nine. Horton added five points, all in the critical turnaround in the fourth quarter. Diamond Chankio added four and Alana Cornish contributed two.
Bardenwerper, Norris and Chankio dished out two assists apiece. Horton, Foy and Cornish added one assist each.
Horton captured six rebounds, while Norris and Chankio collected five each. Bardenwerper totaled four rebounds. La’Miah Foy had three rebounds and Ava Maye had two rebounds.
