Lady Jags stumble at Bryant, 55-49

Northridge traveled across town to Cottondale to take on area opponent Paul W. Bryant and the Lady Jags found themselves with a three point lead heading into the last quarter. Unfortunately, that lead didn’t hold and the Lady Jags fell to the Lady Stampede, 55-49.

The first quarter saw the Lady Stampede outscore the Lady Jags 11-10. However, Northridge flipped the script and bested their opponent by one point in the second quarter, 10-9, to even the score at 20-20 going into halftime.

Things were looking good for the Lady Jags in the third quarter as they outscored the Lady Stampede 18-15, to take a 38-35 lead. The momentum reversed in the fourth quarter with Bryant outscoring the Lady Jags, 20-11. The result was a 55-49 defeat for the Lady Jags.

Ryan Bardenwerper led the Lady Jags with 20 and Jakeya Horton added 14. Diamond Chankio contributed eight and Ryleigh Brooke Norris chipped in 4 points. Taylor Ivory had two points and Ava Maye had one point.
