Jags drop area game at Central, 54-43

When you are ranked at the top, you usually get everyone’s best effort. And the Central Falcons may have given just that against the Northridge Jaguars on Wednesday night. A three point halftime deficit ended as an 11-point loss for the Jags when they faced the Central Falcons for the second time in 15 days.

Central ran out to a 13-7 lead in the first quarter. The Jags managed to win the second quarter, but it was only by one point, and a very low point total of 5-4. The Jags went into the half trailing 17-12.

The Jags built a little momentum and put 20 points on the board in the third quarter. The only problem was that the Falcons matched those 20 points, leaving Central with a 37-32 lead at the end of three. In the fourth quarter, the Jags’ momentum faltered and they just couldn’t get the Falcons cooled down, dropping the last quarter 17-11, resulting in the 54-43 loss.

Anderson Wilkin led the Jags with 19 points. John Walker and Jalen Green contributed seven points each. Jordan Suiter totaled six, with Jack Sanderson and Jonas Wilkin adding two each. Marquez Barrera dished out seven assists, Walker had four, with Anderson Wilkin and Suiter contributing one each.

Walker and Sanderson each pulled down eight rebounds. Green had five rebounds. Ryan Halperin and the Wilkin brothers collected three rebounds each. Suiter pulled down one rebound.
