Lady Jags fall to Lady Patriots, 58-20

It was another rough night for the Lady Jags when they took to the Lady Patriots home court in the championship round of the AHSAA Class 6A Area tournament on Wednesday night. The Lady Patriots used a 29-point second quarter to overwhelm the Lady Patriots and coast to the 58-20 win.

The first quarter ended with the Lady Patriots holding a slim 10-6 lead. But the second quarter was a totally different scenario. The Lady Jags could only muster four points, but he Lady Patriots drenched the scoreboard with 29 points. The result of the barrage was a 39-10 halftime disadvantage for the Lady Jags.

The Lady Patriots cooled significantly in the third stanza, scoring 11 points to the Lady Jags’ five points. That left the score at 50-15 going into the fourth quarter. Northridge duplicated their third quarter output of five and Hillcrest put the fewest on the board of the entire game, scoring eight. The night ended with the Lady Jags with as the runners-up at 58-20.

Ryan Bardenwerper led the Lady Jags with seven points. Taylor Ivory added three points, coming on one field goal and one free throw. Jakeya Horton, La’Miah Foy, Alana Cornish, Ryleigh Brooke Norris and Diamond Chankio each had two points.
