Jags pickup area win over Panthers, 84-55

The Northridge Jaguars hosted the Brookwood Panthers at The Ridge on Friday night and walked away with a 29-point victory. The Panthers came out swinging, but that fervor eventually faded, resulting in the 84-55 win for Northridge.

Brookwood gave the Jags all they wanted in the first quarter. Mize Parker dropped in a shot with two seconds remaining, to give Northridge a 22-21 lead after one quarter of play. The Jags settled in and posted 20 points in the second quarter. The Panthers added 16, resulting in a 42-37 halftime lead for Northridge.

The Jags had their most prolific output of the evening in the third quarter, dropping 27 points on their side of the scoreboard. Brookwood mustered 13 points, resulting in a 69-50 lead for Northridge. The Panthers were held in check in the fourth quarter, scoring only five points. The Jags added another 15 to their total and claimed the 84-55 win.

Northridge was led by Elias Fleming’s 22 points. Tavares Jones put up some good numbers, registering 19 points on the evening. Parker ended the game with 18, rounding out the double-digit scorers. Garrett Ingram added eight points for the Jags. Adam Hall finished with six points. Andrew Matthews totaled four points and Graham Patton had three points. Miller James and Owen Worrell had two points each.
