Jags stumble at Bryant, 62-45
In the game to determine who would host the area tournament, the Jags ran out of gas in the fourth quarter against the Paul W. Bryant Stampede. With a fairly balanced game up until that point, the Jags lost the fourth quarter by 13 and surrendered a 62-45 decision to the Stampede.
The Stampede opened the first quarter of the game by outscoring the Jags by four, on their way to a 14-10 lead at the end of one. The Jags bested Bryant in the second 13-12, to close the Stampede’s halftime lead to 26-23.
The point totals in the third quarter flipped from the second, with Bryant outscoring the Jags 13-12. That left Northridge with a 39-35 deficit. Then, the momentum shifted, immensely. The Stampede lived up to their name by pouring in 23 points to the Jags’ 10 in the last quarter. That 13-point difference ended as a 62-45 loss for the Jags.
As a bright spot on the otherwise dreary night, the Jags had three players in double digits in the points category. Jordan Suiter ended the night with 13 points, with Marquez Barrera and Anderson Wilkin adding 11 points each. John Walker added five, Jonas Wilkin contributed three and Kyle Nunnally rounded out the scoring with two.
Walker totaled four assists on the night. Jalen Green added two assists. Nunnally, Barrera and Suiter were credited with one assist each.
Walker also led the Jags in rebounding, collecting a total of seven. Jonas Wilkin totaled five rebounds and Green had three. Anderson Wilkin, Suiter and Ryan Halperin added two rebounds each. Nunnally was credited with one rebound.
