Lady Jags fall to McAdory in sub-region, 48-42

Hopes were high at The Ridge on Friday for the Lady Jags basketball team, a group that had overcome tremendous adversity throughout the 2024-2025 season. Unfortunately, the Lady Jags just never got the machine running smoothly and came up seven points shy of advancing to the next round of the playoffs. After a slow start, Northridge was able to claim a lead in the second half, but eventually relinquished that lead and fell to McAdory, 48-42.

The Lady Jags didn’t get a bucket in the first quarter until over half of it was gone. The Lady Yellow Jackets took a while to get warmed up as well, but McAdory did well enough to hold a 10-4 advantage after one quarter of play. Northridge warmed up in the second quarter and outscored McAdory, even if by the slimmest of margins, 12-11. The Lady Jags won the battle of the quarter, but still trailed 21-16 at the half.

The third quarter was the brightest spot for the Lady Jags, outscoring McAdory 17-11 and claiming a 33-32 lead after three quarters. Northridge built on that lead in the fourth quarter, but a couple injuries slowed the Lady Jags and they eventually gave up their lead. The final result was a 48-42 loss to McAdory and the end of the 2024-2025 season for the Lady Jags.

Taylor Ivory led Northridge with 13 points. Aleia Morrell added 12 points. RB Norris chipped in 10 points. La-Miah Foy contributed five points and Ava Maye ended the evening with two points.
