Lady Jags get area win over Panthers, 56-20

The Brookwood Panthers made the drive to The Ridge on Friday for an area matchup with the Northridge Jaguars. The Lady Jags came out a little slower than usual, but got rolling in the second quarter, on their way to a 30-8 halftime lead. Northridge continued to build that lead after the half, eventually coming away with a 36-point, 56-20 victory.

As noted, the Lady Jags came out a bit slower than they normally do, but Taylor Ivory’s eight first quarter points allowed the Lady Jags to finish up the first quarter with an 11-4 lead. RB Norris warmed up in Northridge’s 19-point second quarter, hitting three 3-pointers to help the Lady Jags stretch the lead to 30-8 at the half.

Northridge added another 18 to their total in the third quarter, with La’Miah Foy leading the way with eight of those points, leading to a 48-15 lead. The Lady Jags cooled off significantly in the fourth quarter, scoring only eight points, and were led by Liz Rice’s six points. The final outcome was a 56-20 area win for the Lady Jags.

Norris led the Lady Jags with 17 points. Foy and Taylor ended up in double digits with 12 points and 10 points, respectively. Rice totaled six points for the game. Ava Maye added four points with Malia Barrerra and Bayne Brown adding three points each. Aleia Morrel rounded out the scoring with one point.
