Lady Jags knock off Helena, 59-15
The Northridge Lady Jags closed out their 2025-2026 regular season home schedule in similar fashion to how they opened it. The home opener was a 30-point win over Homewood, 63-33. The home closer was a 44-point victory over Helena. It was business as usual for the Lady Jags, using pressure to help create an early lead, then keeping up that pressure to keep their momentum until the game was fully in control. The result was 59-15 win to close out the regular season home schedule.
Northridge opened up a 19-point lead over the visiting Lady Huskies in the first quarter, outscoring their opponent 23-4. The second quarter scoring slowed down a bit, with the Lady Jags hitting for “only” 12 points. But, they also held Helena to only two points. Northridge headed into halftime with a 35-6 lead.
The Lady Jags warmed back up in the third, scoring 16. Helena almost got into double digits for the quarter, but only posted nine when the buzzer sounded. Northridge held a 54-15 lead headed into the final stanza. The fourth quarter only saw the ball pass through the net two times, both for the Lady Jags – a 3-pointer from RB Norris and layup from Malia Barrera. That gave Northridge the 59-15 victory.
Jakeya Horton led the Lady Jags with 16 points. Ryan Bardenwerper finished the evening with 12, as did Aleia Morrell. Taylor Ivory contributed 8 points and Norris finished with six. Ava Maye and Barrera finished with two points each. Bayne Brown rounded out the scoring with one point.
Horton finished the contest with five rebounds and seven steals. Bardenwerper added three rebounds, four steals and five assists. Taylor Ivory also dished out five assists for the Lady Jags.
