Lady Jags make easy work of Tigers, 62-8
The Northridge Lady Jags basketball team took to the court against the Demopolis Tigers on Tuesday for Day 1 of the Thanksgiving Jam at Northridge High School. The Lady Jags never trailed in the game, taking a 15-point lead after one quarter and continued to build that lead into a 62-8 victory.
Northridge jumped out to a 17-2 in the first quarter, led by RB Norris’ 10 points. The quarter saw the Lady Jags score another 16 points, while allowing Demopolis four points, giving Northridge a 33-6 halftime advantage.
Northridge stayed hot through halftime and came out in the third quarter and lit up the scoreboard for 21 points. Demopolis managed another two points in the third quarter. The Lady Jags held a 54-8 lead after three quarters. Demopolis was unable to get on the scoreboard in the last stanza and Northridge cooled off significantly and only added eight points. The score was finalized at 62-8 when the final buzzer sounded.
Norris led Northridge with 16 points and was followed closely by Ava Maye, who added 15 points. Bayne Brown tallied eight points, with Taylor Ivory, Tremyah Washington and Aleia Morrell totaling six points each. La’Miah Foy rounded out the scoring for the Lady Jags with five points. Northridge connected on eight 3-pointers for the game.
