Lady Jags overwhelm Hale County, 76-6

The Northridge Lady Jags basketball team scored enough points in the first four minutes of the first quarter to defeat their opponent on Tuesday night at The Ridge. The bad thing for the visiting Hale County Lady Wildcats was that there were another 28 minutes remaining to deal with the Lady Jags. The Lady Jags allowed three first quarter points and three fourth quarter points – and that was it. The end result was a 76-6 victory for Northridge.

1-6-2026 — Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Jakeya Horton goes up for the basket that would put her over 1,000 career points for the Northridge Lady Jags basketball team.

The first quarter saw Jakeya Horton break the 1,000 point mark of her Northridge career. The special moment came on a set play after the Lady Jags won the opening tip. After that milestone was marked, the Lady Jags scored another 26 points and ended the first quarter with a 28-3 lead. The scoring slowed a bit in the second quarter, with the Lady Jags scoring “only” 13 points while holding the Lady Wildcats scoreless. The result was a 41-3 halftime lead.

The Lady Jags came out hot in the third quarter, scoring 18 points and kept the lights on the scoreboard still for Hale County. The third quarter ended with Northridge holding a 56-point lead, 59-3. The Lady Wildcats managed to double their score in the fourth quarter, with Northridge adding another 17 to their total. The final result was a 70-point win for the Lady Jags, 76-6.

After the milestone bucket, Horton added another 12 points to finish the evening with 14, which led the Lady Jags. Ryan Bardenwerper and Malia Barrera added 12 points each. Aleia Morrell contributed 11 points. Milly Arsenault secured eight points in the book. MaMiya Rice added five points. LaMiah Foy and Raley Hoggle scored three points each. Ava Maye, Taylor Ivory, Bayne Brown and ZaNiyah Hudson added two points each.

Barrera, Arsenault and Rice cleared five rebounds each for Northridge. Horton and Foy totaled three rebounds each. Hoggle secured two rebounds and Bardenwerper, Morrell, Maye, Ivory and Hudson were credited with one rebound each.

Barrera and Arsenault dished out four assists each for the Lady Jags. Maye and Hudson handed out two assists each. Horton, Bardenwerper, Morrell, Foy, Hoggle and Ivory ended the night with one assist each.

Maye led Northridge with five steals. Foy and Ivory had four steals each. Horton, Morrell and Brown totaled three steals apiece. Bardenwerper, Barrera, Arsenault, Hoggle, Rice and Hudson added one steal each.
