Lady Jags secure second area win over Central, 42-30

The Northridge Lady Jags basketball team secured the regular season sweep over the Central Lady Falcons on Tuesday night at The Ridge. After a first quarter deadlock, Northridge slowly built a lead until making a 12-4 run in the final quarter to claim the 12-point win, 42-30.

Northridge nor Central came out shooting hot in the first quarter, as evidenced by the 7-7 tie after one quarter. However, both teams picked up the pace and the Lady Falcons held a four point lead at the half, 19-15.

In the third quarter, the Lady Jags doubled their output from the first half and held the Lady Falcons to four points, to take a 30-26 lead. Northridge tripled Central’s consecutive four point quarter by adding 12 in the final period, claiming the 42-30 area victory.

Aleia Morrell led the Lady Jags with a season-high 19 points. La’Miah Foy was in double digits with 12. RB Norris collected eight points on the evening and Bayne Brown rounded out the Northridge scoring column with three points.
