Lady Patriots rough up Lady Jags, 54-24

It was a rough night on The Ridge for the Lady Jags when they hosted the Hillcrest Lady Patriots on Friday night. Hillcrest jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in handing the Lady Jags a 54-24 loss.

1-26-2024 — Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Taylor Ivory goes up for a jumper against Hillcrest.

The Lady Patriots outscored the Lady Jags 12-2 in the first quarter, then tacked on another 23 in the second, while the Lady Jags put nine points on the board. That left the halftime deficit for Northridge at 35-11. The Lady Jags did manage to pick up a small moral victory in the third quarter, outscoring Hillcrest 11-9. But the Lady Jags still trailed 44-22 to start the fourth quarter. The Lady Jags only managed two in the final stanza and the Lady Patriots tacked on 10 more for the 54-24 final.

1-26-2024 — Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Ryleigh Brooke Norris launches a 3-point shot against Hillcrest.

Ryleigh Brooke Norris led the Lady Jags with seven points. Ryan Bardenwerper totaled five points and Jakeya Horton contributed four. Ava Maye, Taylor Ivory, Alana Cornish and Diamond Chankio collected two points each. Ivory was credited with one assist on the night.

1-26-2024 — Tuscaloosa, Ala. — Diamond Chankio puts back a shot after grabbing a rebound against Hillcrest.

Chankio collected 10 rebounds on the night. Bardenwerper followed with nine boards. Horton had four and Ivory had three. Maye, Cornish and Norris had two rebounds each. And La’Miah Foy added one rebound.
