NHS Boys Golf claims Class 6A Section 2 top spot
The Northridge Boys Golf Team took the top spot for AHSAA Class 6A Section 2 at Ol’ Colony today, shooting 295 for a +7 for the day. The Jags closest opponent, Briarwood, ended with a +18. Other in the sectional tournament were Helena (+55), Hillcrest (+56), Benjamin Russell (+58), Pelham (+64) and Chilton County (+78).
Jace Duckworth had the best round of the day for the Jags, shooting an even-par 72, which also tied him for the top individual score of the day. Caleb Terrell shot a 73 (+1) and Taylor Chambers shot a 74 (+2). Thomas Patton carded a 76 (+4) with Mason Jones closing out the day with a 77 (+5).
Graham Patton and Andrew Matthews competed as individuals which were not counted in the team score. Patton finished with a 75 (+3) and Matthews ended the day with a 76 (+4).
The seven Jags golfers finished in the Top 9. Duckworth tied for first. Terrell and Chambers finished third and fourth. Graham Patton tied for fifth place, and Thomas Patton finished tied for seventh with Matthews. Jones took the ninth spot on the leader board.
