Northridge Boys Wrestling improves to 9-3 for season

The Northridge Wrestling team traveled across town to American Christian Academy on Tuesday to take on the Patriots and the Brookwood Panthers. The Jags Varsity outscored Brookwood 42-32 and outscored ACA 48-28.

Six Jags didn’t drop a match on the evening. Robert Felix, Andrew Rath, JC Rainer, Jacob Knapp, Demarion Cotton and Marquavion Hawkins finished 2-0. Carter Blumenthal, Hunter Evans, Rodarius Lee and Cruz Lee went 1-1 for the dual.

In girls action, Colleen Barkey and Ariyanna Hardrix were perfect, both going 2-0.

In the younger divisions, the Jags made another sweep. Northridge defeated Hale County 54-6, ACA 45-12 and Brookwood 42-12.

Three Jags were undefeated on the evening. Marquavion Hawkins, JC Rainer, Jackson Knapp, Elijah Hill and Kendeldrick Dunn went 3-0. Alex Garcia finished 2-2.

Northridge will travel to Jasper on Thursday to take on Jasper, Chelsea and Hamilton. This dual will feature a Jasper team that has six ranked wrestlers, as well as Northridge’s three ranked wrestlers. The 106 match with Jasper will feature the #1 and #2 ranked Class 6A wrestlers in the state. The 165 match will feature the #2 and #5 wrestlers in 6A.

Northridge’s Robert Felix is ranked #1 in the 106-lb. class. Hunter Evans is ranked #5 in the 165-lb. class and Donny Burnett is ranked #4 in the 175-lb. class.
