Northridge Girls cruise to win over Sipsey Valley, 54-9
The Northridge Lady Jags hosted the Lady Bears from Sipsey Valley Monday night at The Ridge. After holding a 41-5 advantage at the half, Northridge slowed a bit in the final two quarters, but still kept the defensive pressure on, only allowing four points from Sipsey Valley. The result was a 54-9 win for the Lady Jags.
Northridge started out shooting a little on the cool side, but warmed up after the first few minutes, eventually taking a 16-2 lead after one quarter. The Lady Jags kept the defensive pressure on and scored another 25 points in the second quarter, resulting in a 41-5 lead going into the half.
The Lady Jags offensive output slowed considerably in the third and fourth quarters, but the defensive pressure limited the Lady Bears to two points in each of the second half quarters. Northridge failed to score in double digits in either quarter of the second half, scoring eight and five points, respectively. When the final buzzer sounded, the Lady Jags claimed the 54-9 win.
Ryan Bardenwerper led Northridge with 19 points and also collected two rebounds and one assist. Jakeya Horton followed with 10 points and added two rebounds and one assist. Horton also collected three steals. Aleia Morrell chipped in eight points and had four rebounds and three steals. Ava Maye tallied five points, five rebounds, one assist and five steals. Taylor Ivory added five points and collected three rebounds, four assists and two steals.
La’Miah Foy had three points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals. Raley Hoggle had two points. Za’Niyah Hudson had two points and three rebounds. Malia Barrera had two rebounds and two assists and Bayne Brown had two rebounds and two steals.
