Northridge Volleyball gets Monday/Tuesday wins
The Northridge Lady Jags volleyball team picked up wins on Monday (9/29) and Tuesday (9/30), outlasting Tuscaloosa Academy in five sets on Monday and taking three straight sets from area foe Brookwood on Tuesday.
On Monday, the Lady Jags looked to be in control of the match, taking the first two sets, 25-11 and 25-7. But the Lady Knights rallied to take the next two sets, 25-22 and 25-23. Northridge bounced back and took the last set, 15-8.
Sage Jackson logged 14 kills, two blocks and nine digs. Avery Warren tallied 14 kills, four blocks, 21 assists and 11 digs. Nola Gillespie finished with eight kills and four blocks.
Monday also served as Senior Night for the Lady Jags. Chloe Calhoun, Sage Jackson and Caroline Way were recognized before the varsity match.

The Lady Jags were back in action on Tuesday evening, traveling to Brookwood for an area matchup with the Lady Panthers. Brookwood put up a fight in the first set, with Northridge taking the opening set 25-21. However, the Lady Jags took control and finished the match in straight sets, taking the final two, 25-9 and 25-10.
Sage Jackson finished the match with 17 kills and three blocks. Avery Warren totaled four aces, three kills, 14 assists and 11 digs. Caroline Way picked up five kills and one block.
The Lady Jags currently hold an 18-12 overall record and are undefeated, at 6-0, in area play.
