Snapshot of Jags Baseball Regular Season Stats Leaders

Just for a little fun before we hit the playoffs on Friday night, we’ll take a quick and dirty look at some of the stats leaders for the Jags at the end of the regular season. This won’t be a deep dive, but will let you know who has been leading the team in a few offensive and pitching categories.

As is the general standard, we’ll kick things off with a look at the offensive leaders. Milo Obradovich leads the team with 83 plate appearances and is followed by Evan Malone with 79 and Anthony Messina with 77.

Thomas Woolf leads the Jags with a .420 batting average and is followed closely by Jack Sanderson at .404. Obradovich holds the third slot hitting .373 at the plate.

Woolf holds down the top spot in the on base percentage column with a .529 OBP. Cade Senn holds down the second slot with a .518 OBP and Sanderson is in the third spot with a .506 OBP.

Obradovich has a solid grip on the slugging percentage category with a .735 SLG. Sanderson holds the second slot at .526 and Woolf gets another nod with a .464 slugging percentage.

Obradovich leads the Jags with 31 hits and is being chased by Woolf with 29 and Evan Malone with 26. Obradovich has cleared the outfield fence (in fair territory) four times on the year, with Logan Caldwell and Malone going yard twice and once, respectively.

As you might guess, Obradovich holds the lead with 30 RBIs on the year. Woolf follows with 20 RBIs and Sanderson holds the third slot with 18 RBIs.

Once again, we mention Obradovich, this time in the runs scored column, where he leads with 28 runs scored. Elam Mayson holds down the second spot with 26 runs scored and Senn slides in at the third spot, scoring 18 runs on the season, so far.

Elam lead the team in base thievery, with 25 stolen bases on the season. Senn has bagged 11 of his own and Obradovich breaks in to another category, having nabbed 10 bases.

Now for the most notable defensive category, pitching. All of the pitchers mentioned below have completed a minimum of 10 innings on the mound.

Caldwell leads Northridge in innings pitched with a total of 37 and faced 173 batters. Malone completed 33-1/3 innings, facing 134 batters. Woolf comes in third place with 31 innings pitched, but having faced a few more batters than Caldwell, for a total of 149 batters.

Caldwell made 588 plate offerings. Woolf delivered 564 pitches and Malone threw 522 pitches.

Senn (10-2/3 innings pitched) and Malone allowed 12 hits each and Burns Brumfield (15-1/3 innings pitched) surrendered 17 hits on the year. Malone, Brumfield and Senn allowed 8, 7, and 6 earned runs, respectively.

Malone struck out 45 batters, while Caldwell followed closely by handing out 41 Ks. Woolf sent 24 batters back to the dugout via strikeout.

The final category we will peek at is earned run average. Malone takes the top spot with a 1.68 ERA for the regular season. Anthony Messina (27-2/3 innings) holds down the second slot with a 2.53 ERA and Brumfield closes out the top three with a 2.739 ERA.

All of those categories and quite a few more have brought the Jags to a 17-8 regular season record. They’ve also claimed the 2024 AHSAA Class 6A Area 6 Championship and a spot in the 2024 Class 6A Playoff.
