Lady Jags drop Central, 65-44
The Northridge Lady Jags claimed another area victory against the Central Lady Falcons on Tuesday night at The Ridge. While Central made a game of it in the first quarter, things changed in the second and the Lady Jags coasted to a 65-44 win.
The first quarter of play ended with the Lady Jags holding the slimmest of leads, 12-11. However, the momentum completely shifted axis in the second quarter. The Lady Jags added 18 points to their total, while allowing the Lady Falcons only three points. That left Northridge with a 30-14 halftime lead.
Central was able to put 13 points on the board in the third quarter, but the Lady Jags added another 17 to their total. That gave Northridge a 20-point lead, 47-27, going into the final quarter of play. Much to the chagrin of Coach Jake Carnley, the Lady Falcons had their most prolific output of the night, scoring 17 points in the final quarter. However, the Lady Jags added another 18 points to their total, resulting in the 65-44 area win for the Lady Jags.
Aleia Morrell led Northridge in the scoring column, finishing the evening with 18 points. She also collected 7 rebounds. Jakeya Horton totaled 13 points and eight rebounds for the game. Taylor Ivory had 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and four steals. Ryan Bardenwerper finished with 11 points and was credited with four steals. Milly Arsenault had six points and three assists. LaMiah Foy rounded out the pertinent stats with five points.
